Dedicated physical server for one customer only, not shared with anyone.
Dedicated Server is a physical server leased entirely. All CPU, RAM, and drives belong to a single customer, with no shared virtualization layer in between.
Enterprises typically choose dedicated servers for three reasons: they need full hardware performance without interference from other customers on the same machine; they need to install software or apply configurations that virtualization environments do not permit; or they have compliance requirements that mandate data isolation from third party infrastructure.
In contrast, scaling up is much slower than cloud: upgrading configuration means replacing actual hardware, which requires scheduling and causes downtime.
